Some of the significant dates in the history of the firm follow:

November, 1950
Offices were moved from the White Building to 421 North Richardson, which provided six private offices versus three in the old location. About eighteen months later, a staff room was added to the rear of the building.

November, 1956
Offices were moved to 600 North Richardson, providing an enlarged reception room, ten private offices and a large staff room.

March 15, 1959
J. Walden Bassett, founder and senior partner, died of a heart attack.

September 30, 1966
Bassett, Johnston & Deason was dissolved and two new firms were formed:

    Deason & Peters
    Composed of T.J. Deason, Jr. and A.L. Peters. Offices established in the J.P. White Building.

    Johnston, Wilson, Crocker & Dotts
    Composed of E. Bernard Johnston, Charles V. Wilson, Roy E. Crocker, Virgil H. Dotts, George H. England, Jr., Robert F. Singleton, Buddy Burton, and Howard C. Kastler.

June 1, 1967
Johnston, Wilson, Crocker & Dotts was dissolved and Roy E. Crocker and Robert F. Singleton joined Deason & Peters to form the firm, Deason, Crocker, Singleton & Peters.

Effective this same date, the practice of James M. Stockton, R.P.A. was acquired and Mr. Stockton became associated with the firm.

November 15, 1970
The firm name was changed to Deason, Crocker, Peters, & Co.

July 1, 1975
The firm name was changed to Deason, Peters, Stockton, Gilmore & Co.

July 1, 1979
The firm name was changed to Deason, Peters, Stockton, & Co.

December 1, 1983
The firm, having outgrown its space in the J.P. White Building, relocated to the new United Bank Plaza.

August 1, 1985
The Roswell office of Alexander Grant & Co. was acquired. This combination of practices increased total personnel by 12.

June 17, 1996
The firm moved to its new building at 2724 Wilshire Boulevard and became Gilmore, Gannaway, Andrews, Smith & Co., LLC.

January 1, 2005
Gilmore, Gannaway, Andrews, Smith & Co., LLC acquired the accounting practice of Harold Widner in Clovis.

September 1, 2005
Mike Jones's accounting practice in Clovis was acquired and merged with the established firm in Clovis.  Gilmore, Gannaway, Andrews, Smith & Co. now has one office in Roswell and one in Clovis.
